Prosthetic leg replacement can restore comfort, fit and confidence.
What struck me most about Rendani was not what he had lost, but how positively he kept going.
I first met Rendani Nthangeni six years ago, when we manufactured his prosthetic leg. When he returned to see me recently, his old prosthesis was, quite honestly, no longer wearable.
I still don’t understand how he managed to walk with it every day and continue going to work. On top of that, his diabetes has affected his eyesight badly, and he was also undergoing an eye operation while we were manufacturing his new prosthesis.
Despite all of this, Rendani remained positive, grateful and incredibly encouraging. His attitude reminded me just how much we sometimes take for granted. It was genuinely humbling to spend time with him.
His new prosthesis is a huge upgrade. The fit is right again, and seeing him walk with comfort and confidence made all the work worthwhile.
Rendani, thank you for your trust and support. I have enormous respect for you.
A well-fitted prosthetic socket provides improved comfort, stability and control during everyday walking.
