Eloise Schutte

Prosthetic cosmetic covers can make a real difference.
For some amputees, looking like themselves matters just as much as walking comfortably.

I have worked with Eloise Schutte for many years, and I know that feeling comfortable and feminine in her appearance is important to her.

For me, creating a cosmetic cover that comes as close as possible to the appearance of the sound limb is one of the most satisfying challenges in prosthetics.

Today, we finished Eloise’s new cosmetic cover and sprayed it with Super Skin. Watching her see the finished result and knowing it made her feel beautiful was a very special moment for me.

Cosmetic finishing is not about hiding an amputation. For some people, it is simply about feeling more like themselves again.

Super Skin is a polyurethane coating that creates a washable, resilient and dirt-resistant protective layer over flexible prosthetic foam covers.
