Our services

Breast prostheses (external breast forms)

Finding the right breast prosthesis is about more than just appearance. It’s essential for your posture, comfort, and confidence. We carefully match the weight, shape, and natural drape of your breast to beautifully restore your body’s symmetry. Whether you need a breast prosthesis in Pretoria or nearby, we promise a fit that feels seamless and completely natural.

Mastectomy bras and post operation bras

Feel beautiful and supported with our specially designed mastectomy bras. Created without irritating underwires, these bras feature soft, integrated pockets, higher necklines to protect delicate scar tissue, and wider, padded straps to comfortably distribute weight. Move through your day with confidence, feeling secure, supported, and as beautiful as you are.

Lymphoedema compression garments

Proper lymphoedema treatment in South Africa requires precise, medical-grade support. We offer custom-fitted and ready-to-wear compression garments designed to help you manage swelling safely and effectively. We take accurate measurements to ensure the correct pressure gradient, promoting healthy lymphatic drainage and bringing you relief.

Post surgical support and fittings

Your healing body deserves the utmost care. We offer dedicated post-mastectomy care in Pretoria, providing gentle, professional fittings in a private setting. Our post-operation bras are essential for the first weeks of recovery — designed with front-fastening closures for ease of dressing when mobility is limited. These soft, wire-free garments provide gentle compression to manage swelling while protecting delicate incision sites.

Medical Aid & Coverage

Quality care should be accessible, and your recovery shouldn’t come with financial worry.

In South Africa, external breast prostheses and essential garments are widely covered under Oncology benefits or as Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMBs). This means most medical aids fully fund these essentials, typically allowing for a new covered prosthesis every 12–24 months.

To give you complete peace of mind regarding costs, we take the stress out of the administration process by assisting you with:

  • PMB Applications: Navigating the system to secure your guaranteed medical benefits.
  • Medical Aid Claims: Handling the submission details to ensure a smooth, hassle-free process.
  • ICD-10 & NAPPI Codes: Providing the exact coding required by your medical scheme for swift approval.

Questions we hear often

Honest, plain-language answers about what to expect.

We usually recommend waiting 6 to 8 weeks after surgery. This gives your body time to heal, ensuring the scar tissue has settled and any swelling has gone down. Your surgeon will give you the final go-ahead.

Yes, in most cases, South African medical aids cover external breast prostheses under Oncology or PMB (Prescribed Minimum Benefits). Generally, schemes allow for a new prosthesis every 24 months. We assist with the claims process by providing the necessary Nappi codes and ICD-10 codes.

That’s what we’re here for. In a private, one-on-one consultation, our female orthotist will carefully match the weight, shape, and feel of your natural breast. This restores your body’s symmetry, which is vital for preventing the chronic neck and back pain that can result from a weight imbalance.

Mastectomy bras are designed with you in mind. They have soft pockets to securely hold a prosthesis, higher necklines to gently cover scarring, and wide, padded straps to distribute weight evenly. Most importantly, they are free of underwires, which can irritate sensitive skin and healing tissue.

While you can, we don’t recommend it for everyday wear. Regular bras don’t have the special pocket needed to keep the prosthesis securely in place, and they often lack the support needed for the weight of a silicone form, which can lead to discomfort.

To ensure they provide the correct medical-grade compression, we recommend replacing your garments every 3 to 6 months.

Managing lymphoedema isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” situation. An ill-fitting sleeve from online can actually make things worse by cutting off circulation or pushing fluid the wrong way. As orthotists, we take multiple measurements to create a “pressure gradient” (strongest at your hand or foot and gently decreasing up the limb) to safely guide fluid back toward your heart.
