This week, I had the absolute honour of manufacturing a new Below-Knee Prosthesis for Danie Stroebel – an incredible man and an amputee for more than 45 years. Danie is one of those rare individuals who’s stuck to what works for him, and we fully respect that.
He continues to wear the PTS suspension system – a handcrafted socket design that grips above the femoral condyles without the use of modern silicone liners or suction systems. It’s old school, it’s technical, and it’s one of the most difficult systems to perfect, especially on a bony residual limb.
There’s no room for error and nowhere to hide. It’s raw skill, fine-tuned experience, and a true expression of what prosthetic craftsmanship is all about.
Danie, thank you for your incredible loyalty, your trust, and most of all, your friendship over all these years. It’s always a privilege to work with you, and this leg, like every one before it, was made with care and pride.
Here’s to walking strong, the old school way!
