Hans Van Wyk came to see me last year. He was amputated 2 and a half years ago, due to infection and gangrene.
When I saw him he came in with his 1st leg fitted, which was, way way too big, because as with any new amputee, he lost a lot of volume.
So, today was his big day where all was in place to fit him with a completely new prosthesis, Direct Socket with a vacuum system, using the IceForm sleeve and cushion liner.
The new leg’s tightness was something to get used to, but so far, so good! Hans, congratulations on your well-deserved new leg! Enjoy! Jaco
