Some patients just make the journey a joy – Barry De Wit is one of them.
Barry lost his leg a few years ago, and from day one, he’s been an absolute pleasure to work with. His positive attitude, willingness to learn, and trust in the process have made every step together a meaningful one.
This past week marked an exciting milestone. After two solid years of walking on his prosthesis, it was time for a refit.
Barry had lost a significant amount of volume in his stump, which was making things a little uncomfortable. But now, as a more experienced amputee, Barry knew exactly what he wanted: a switch to a pin locking liner for a new kind of suspension. So, last Thursday, we did a direct socket fit with a pin liner, and Barry loved it! A snug, supportive fit again – and no more suspension sleeve over the knee, giving him that “free” feeling that makes such a difference in daily comfort.
Barry, thank you for your trust, your energy, and the opportunity to be part of your journey. It’s always an honour.
