Working with children as amputees is one of the greatest joys of my work, and Rethabile is a perfect reminder of why I love it so much.
Kids are simply incredible. They adapt so quickly, bounce back with resilience, and live life with such freedom and joy. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of building truly special relationships with the young stars I get to work with – and each one leaves a mark on my heart.
Rethabile is no different. She loves her prosthetic leg, especially when it’s shiny, colourful, and full of personality! Her latest one? A gorgeous, glittery pink leg that she proudly shows off to her friends as she runs, plays, and lives every day to the fullest.
This week we gave her a brand new one, and she’s absolutely over the moon. That smile, that energy, it’s everything.
