It is amazing to experience improvement in your work due to new techniques available to us. We fitted Tiaan Kriel with a new TF socket today, but used the Direct Socket from Össur. Up until now, he has been on rigid sockets throughout his amputated life.
His reaction was amazing to experience.
Some positive improvements that were immediately experienced include:
1. Excellent volume control.
2. A lot more freedom in movement in his “brim” part of his socket.
3. He could lift his amputated leg high enough while sitting to dress his pants.
4. He could walk long and slow on his prosthetic side because of extreme brim comfort.
5. His walking pace has increased a lot.
These are all amazing results!
Improvement for amputees is what we strive for. Tiaan, we are so happy for you and your wife, Heidi!

An Update
We later received a message from Tiaan explaining that he could place his prosthetic leg on the couch while sitting. This a great win for us as Tiaan now has a level of comfort that he has not experienced in years.
The message read:
