Above knee

Simoné

Learning to walk without any assistance is difficult. This difficulty greatly increases when you have to learn to walk alone with a Double/Bi-Lateral Trans-Femoral amputation. It takes every single bit of willpower to tackle this immense challenge!

We removed Simoné’s prosthetic knee joints to give a lower point of gravity and better balance.

Today’s exercise is to step forward and stop without holding onto anything and catch the ball. We made huge progress today and I am sure that by next Thursday we will be able to show a video where she is walking without any assistance!

Simoné you are amazing!
