Below knee

Piet Dreyer

Some people walk into your life and leave footprints that never fade. Piet Dreyer is one of those people.

Piet has been a below-knee amputee for many, many years, and he’s also one of my absolute favourite humans. Over time, we’ve built a journey full of trust, persistence, and a whole lot of fine-tuning.

Because Piet has walked on a prosthesis for so long, he knows exactly how he wants it to feel – when he puts it on, when he stands, when he walks and even when he stands over a golf ball. That level of expectation? It’s not easy. It’s intense, personal, and incredibly challenging.

After three intense, detailed, and honestly stressful test fittings, we finally cracked it. That moment when Piet stood up, smiled, and said, “Yes, this feels right” – that was the win. The leg felt like a part of him again, and there’s no better reward than that.

Piet, you are my special amputee. You challenge me every time, but I love meeting that challenge. Thank you for trusting me and walking this path with me.

Here’s to many more steps, swings, and smiles!
