One just never knows what to expect from a first-time amputee, especially an Above – Knee amputee. Lyndenn lost his leg in June this year, after a traumatic fall. He came to my practice today, full of confidence and bravery. I had to try and pull up his handbrake, to try and prevent any disappointment, but it was completely unnecessary, as after 1 hour of training, he already was walking with 1 crutch.
As any Above – Knee amputee will know, to understand what to do, to be brave enough to do it and execute it, is really difficult! Lynden put his foot on the accelerator and really just did it! He kept going and going!
Lyndenn, you are very brave, and I am very proud of you, and happy for you!! We are looking forward to seeing the amazing progress you as an amputee will show us!
Happy walking days!
