We recently supplied one of our oldest patients ever with a prosthetic limb! Mrs Barnard, 91 years old lost her leg below the knee. She has always been strong and healthy, but due to poor blood circulation, gangreen started to form in her lower right leg.

She recovered well after the operation, but sadly after 6 months, infection crept in again, and she had to be amputated through the knee. For all of us this was devastating news! She survived her second amputation. Shortly after the amputation her gull bladder was also removed.

Today, one year later after her first amputation, above all expectations, Mrs Barnard is walking step for step with her walking frame and prosthetic leg! Her general health and emotional well being is fantastic. Mrs Barnard surprised and impressed us all, and showed us, where there is a will, there is a way!! Well done Mrs Barnard!
